Rockville somehow manages to be both a fitting setting for F. Scott Fitzgerald's burial site (at Old St. Mary's Church) as well as an attractive magnet for vibrant new immigrant communities. Rockville Town Center, with its broad plaza, cutting-edge library, and pedestrian-friendly shops and restaurants opened in 2007, giving Rockville a much-needed downtown.
